Let’s welcome the winter season, the time for rest, introspection, meditation and energy conservation.
The winter element water is often seen as a calming and nurturing force, representing qualities such as wisdom and inner reflection. It is the deepest, most Yin element. Like a peaceful lake, the water element helps us find calm and balance, especially at the end of a challenging time. It symbolises rest and taking care of ourselves.
Winter is also the season of the kidneys in TCM. Since the kidneys are thought to store our vital energy, the water element is considered crucial for our overall health, influencing the well-being of other parts of our body. The emotion connected to the water element is fear, willpower and courage its antidotes.
In this workshop we will explore how to take care of our kidney energy, connect with the fluidity of water, and foster a sense of patience and calm, through a combination of yoga, somatic movement and meridian stretching used in East Asian medicine. Leave feeling more peaceful, nourished, grounded and able to meet the approaching winter with quiet determination.
